Generally, any crib base construction is acceptable to use with the mattress. We encourage you to use a flat base for best results in long-term use. Having the mattress on a baseboard instead of springs will not affect the breathability of the mattress.
It's important to note that crib assembly can be tricky, but ensure that the surface is flat for best performance when placing the platform or springboard into the crib. If your springboard has the metal ridge side up in the assembly, flipping the base around so the surface is entirely level is needed to ensure proper fit and safety. Spring bases can also get loose over time, so be sure that the springs are firm and secure to ensure the mattress is on a solid foundation.
