What is the age/weight limit?

The Essential Bassinet is designed for newborns and infants up to about six months. For various safety reasons, do not use this product when an infant begins to push up on hands and knees, can roll over, or has reached 20 lbs., whichever comes first. Move your child to another safe sleeping space when your child reaches this stage.

What is the size of the Essential Bassinet Mattress?

The Newton Bassinet Mattress is 1.5 inches thick—the maximum allowed under federal safety regulations for children’s products—offering the perfect balance of comfort and safety. The sleep surface measures 35" x 19".

Do I need to use a sheet?

The Essential Bassinet comes with one sheet and we carry extras HERE. Using a sheet, however, is optional. It is safe for baby to sleep directly on the cover. Sheets for the Bassinet & Bedside Sleeper are only available in Grey.

Can I buy extra mattress covers for the Essential Bassinet? Do you carry a waterproof Bassinet mattress cover?

You can find extra covers for the Bassinet here: https://www.newtonbaby.com/products/extra-bassinet-pad-cover . We do not carry waterproof accessories for the Essential Bassinet but the mattress cover is water-resistant and machine washable.

Where is the Essential Bassinet made?

It is designed in the US and made in China.

Does the Essential Bassinet ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Canada?

The Essential Bassinet ships within the contiguous US for free. Shipping charges to HI or AK will vary based on zip code. It is not available for shipping to Canada.
